Chiropractic Solutions Knows Anatomy Well, Knows Your Spine Well

Your San Jose chiropractor knows your spine! Chiropractic Solutions understands anatomy. Back in chiropractic school, your chiropractor studied much about anatomy of the spine and applies that knowledge daily. Knowing the anatomy of the spine is always at the forefront of your chiropractor’s mind as you and each spine pain, neck pain, back pain patient walks through the door! It is so exciting! (Are you not you glad someone finds it exciting?)

LEARNING ANATOMY IN SCHOOL

When we were in school, we were all guilty of learning only to pass an exam. Going to professional school, such learning is more important than ever since it will influence everyday work. (How much do you remember from your high school or college days?) An international survey of chiropractors and anatomists discovered that chiropractors felt that a higher level of anatomy teaching during chiropractic school was advantageous for clinical practice, permitting better understanding, application, and analysis of anatomical information to justify a clinical decision in their daily clinical practice. (1) An Australian report of chiropractors compared their knowledge of anatomy to that of chiropractic students. The chiropractic practitioners reported that they knew their anatomy and proved it in a test showing their knowledge. This was compared to the equivalent in their chiropractic student counterparts. The chiropractors showed that they retained their knowledge of anatomy - and knew they did! – contradicting the thought that chiropractic practitioners may not retain it after school. Knowledge of anatomy is used every day in chiropractic practice, and chiropractors understand their anatomy. (2) Your San Jose chiropractor does! We’ll be happy to talk about it!

SPINAL ANATOMY KNOWLEDGE PUT TO USE IN CHIROPRACTIC CLINICAL PRACTICE

Applying spinal manipulation every day applies knowledge of the spine’s anatomy every day. The most common reasons people reported seeking chiropractic care were low back pain (49.7%), neck pain (22.5%), and extremity issues (10.0%). The most common treatment they experienced were spinal manipulation (79.3%), soft tissue therapy (35.1%), and formal patient education (31.3%). (3) Spinal conditions get a lot of attention from chiropractic patients and their chiropractors, of course! But positive side effects of chiropractic care materialize in the medical literature as well like potential cardiovascular benefit. In a placebo-controlled, assessor-blinded, randomized trial, researchers reported on the immediate effects of manual therapy to the upper thoracic spine on cardiovascular autonomic control of musculoskeletal pain patients (ie, back pain, spine pain, neck pain, etc.). The researchers explained that musculoskeletal pain intensified the risk of cardiovascular events. (4) Come feel these benefits of chiropractic treatment based on spinal anatomy knowledge.
